Lawyer: Paris Court Acquits Journalist Who Claimed Macron's Wife Is Male
The defense lawyer of independent journalist Natasha Raye, Franck Dangre, stated that the Paris Court of Appeal acquitted Natasha Raye, who was previously convicted in France for claiming that the wife of French President Macron, Brigitte, was born male.
Dangre posted on the X social media platform: "Natasha Raye won the case, Brigitte (Jean-Michel Tornier) lost: The appellate court acquitted Natasha Raye. She plans to file a private lawsuit against Brigitte (Jean-Michel Tornier), accusing them of fraud during the judicial process."
In September 2024, a Paris court sentenced two women, including Raye, to a fine of 13,500 euros for defamation because they claimed that Brigitte Macron was born male. Later, the Supreme Court upheld this verdict.
In December 2021, months before the French presidential election, Natasha Raye, who claimed to be an independent journalist, uploaded a video on YouTube stating that she had investigated the president's wife for years. She claimed that Brigitte, whose maiden name was Tornier, was a high school teacher who was 24 years older than the president and was actually born male, named Jean-Michel. This video spread virally on global media, including in the United States.
In March 2024, Macron publicly criticized the gossip about his wife's gender for the first time. He said that the worst thing he experienced during his presidency was false information and fabricated stories, which people believed and began to constantly harass him, including interfering with his private life.
