According to the U.S. "Wall Street Journal," the Russian military has begun using a tactic involving so-called "mothership drones," which can increase the strike range against Ukrainian forces on the front lines.
The report indicates that in recent months, the Ukrainian forces have discovered that the Russians are using heavy drones as "carriers": these heavy drones penetrate behind the Ukrainian-controlled line and release small drones carrying explosives, which are specifically used to attack military equipment. In addition, these heavy drones can also serve as relays, providing stable communication between combat personnel and attack drones.
The "Wall Street Journal" noted that with this tactic, the accuracy of Russian drones' strikes has significantly improved, allowing them to target objectives as far as 30 kilometers from the contact line.
