Foreign media: Apple Inc. recently filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court in San Jose, California, accusing former employee Shichen (translated name) of stealing core secrets related to the Apple Watch before leaving and leaking them to Chinese smartphone manufacturer OPPO.

The complaint states that Shichen served as an Apple Watch sensor system architect and worked at Apple from 2020 to June 2025. On the day before his departure, he copied 63 confidential documents stored in a "protected Box folder" to a USB drive, and met individually with team engineers multiple times to collect development details.

Apple pointed out that Shichen later joined OPPO's U.S. R&D department in Silicon Valley, InnoPeak, and reported the relevant actions to Zeng zijing, Vice President of OPPO's Health Business, who replied with "OK" and "OK" emoji. Apple claims that OPPO was aware and benefited from this, and the case involves the protection of trade secrets and transnational technology competition.
