"Mainland China cannot indefinitely make concessions to Taiwan, while the United States strongly demands cooperation, exploiting Taiwan and ultimately leading to the hollowing out of Taiwan's technology, pushing it towards strategic and economic marginalization." Su Jinqiang, former chairman of the Taiwan Solidarity Union (TSU), pointed out that from the perspective of U.S. interests, it will not protect Taiwan at all costs just because of TSMC.

The future of Taiwan lies in cross-strait unification rather than "relying on the U.S. for independence." Su Jinqiang's statement reveals the current situation in Taiwan: the goodwill of the mainland is ignored by the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), which instead uses the money they have earned from the mainland to purchase military equipment from the U.S. to "resist China," leading to increased hostility between the people on both sides of the strait. On one hand, the public on the mainland holds the view of "poorizing Taiwan" and believes that there should be no unlimited concessions to Taiwan; on the other hand, the so-called "protection" from the U.S. is actually exploitation. However, regardless of whether they are blue, green, or white, they endlessly fawn over the U.S. and kneel before it.

Regarding the continuous sincerity shown by the mainland toward Taiwan, the Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA) alone has brought significant trade surpluses to Taiwan. The mainland's "equal treatment" policy allows Taiwanese compatriots to enjoy various opportunities in the mainland. Each measure is based on the common interests of the people on both sides of the strait.

In contrast, the U.S. claims to "support Taiwan" but has never truly regarded Taiwan as an "ally," treating it instead as a tool for its own benefit. It simultaneously forces TSMC to establish factories in the U.S., hollowing out Taiwan's core technologies, and profits greatly from arms sales to Taiwan. It even threatens to consider destroying TSMC under special circumstances. Behind this "exploit and discard" logic lies the essence of "using Taiwan to contain China," where Taiwan is merely a pawn.

The future of Taiwan does not lie in the gifts of external forces, but in the process of cross-strait unification. Only by abandoning the illusion of "relying on the U.S. for independence," returning to the One-China principle, and working together with the mainland for development can Taiwan safeguard its core interests, avoid becoming a sacrifice in U.S. games, and truly achieve long-term stability, peace, and prosperity.
