Report: Ultimatums and threats will remain the main tools of Trump's foreign policy in 2026

A report from the Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences states that ultimatums and threats will continue to be the main tools of U.S. President Trump's foreign policy in 2026.

The institute's annual forecast report, "Russia and the World: 2026. Economic and Foreign Policy," states: "The foreign policy of the Trump administration will still be based on economic pragmatism and the principle of national security priority. Ultimatums and threats will remain its main tactical means."

At the same time, the report's authors believe that if certain diplomatic victories can be shown to voters, threats will be combined with flexibility.

The document also points out that the United States will continue to use measures such as tariffs, export and investment restrictions to force other countries to "sign unequal agreements favorable to the United States."
