Philippine Police Chief Torre, who was promoted for his role in arresting Duterte, has been removed from his position by President Marcos!

President Marcos signed an order to remove Torre from his position as chief of the Philippine National Police. This comes just three months after Torre took office.

"This is to formally relieve you of your position as director, effective immediately. In order to continue providing effective public services within the Philippine National Police, this directive requires you to ensure the proper transfer of all matters, documents, and information related to your office."

The order signed by Marcos did not specify the reason for Torre's removal.

On June 2, Torre succeeded former police chief Rommel Mabilog. Before his appointment, Torre acted as Marcos' vanguard, leading several high-profile actions against the Duterte camp, including the arrest of Duterte's close friend Quiboloy between August and September 2024, as well as the arrest of former president Rodrigo Duterte and his transfer to the International Court of Justice in The Hague.
