Trump said that only the "dark and evil forces" would want his tariff policies to end
Before delivering a speech on the U.S. economy and cost of living at a rally in Pennsylvania tonight, Donald Trump defended his tariff system.
On Tuesday morning, Trump wrote on his social platform Truth Social:
"Because of tariffs—simple and quickly implemented—our national security has been greatly enhanced, and we have become the financially strongest country in the world, far ahead. Only the dark and evil forces would want to see all this end!!!"
The U.S. Supreme Court will soon make a ruling on Trump's tariff policy, following a debate on its legal validity last month. The ruling is expected to be announced later this year or early 2026.
In a second post, Trump wrote:
"The greatest threat to U.S. national security in history would be an adverse ruling by the Supreme Court on tariffs. In that case, we would be completely defenseless financially. Now Europe is also imposing tariffs on China, just as they have done with other countries. But we can't do what others have already done!"
