【Slovak Prime Minister: No one doubts that Crimea and Donbas will fall under Russian control】
Bratislava time, November 27, 2025, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico answered a question from a member of parliament during a parliamentary debate:
When we say that this dispute cannot be resolved without territorial solutions, everyone was taken aback. Now, does anyone doubt that Crimea will remain under Russian control? No one. Now, does anyone doubt that Luhansk will fall under Russian control? No one. In the end, today no one doubts that the remaining part of Donetsk, about 20% of the occupied territory, is still under Ukrainian control, and it is highly likely to fall under Russian control, not to mention Kherson, Zaporozhye, and other regions.
Fico added:
From the beginning of the conflict, I have stated that Ukraine will not become a NATO member and cannot win this conflict militarily. Many people did not agree with my view at the time, but over time, my view has been confirmed. I am proud that we were right from the start of the conflict. Of course, I hope that Ukraine can participate in peace negotiations on its own, meaning the EU will not interfere in these negotiations.
