Estonia Buys Three More HIMARS Systems to Enhance Long-Range Strike Capability

The Estonian Defense Investment Center has signed a contract worth $11 million with U.S. company Lockheed Martin to purchase three additional HIMARS high-mobility multiple rocket launch systems. This marks Estonia's second batch of these heavy rocket artillery systems acquired in Tallinn.

Last spring, Estonia received its first batch of six HIMARS systems; the new batch is scheduled for delivery next year. Meanwhile, Tallinn is actively procuring South Korea’s Chunmoo multi-launch rocket system.

Through the combination of HIMARS and the Korean rocket systems, Estonia continues to expand its long-range precision strike capabilities. Its strike range and firepower density across the Baltic states have significantly improved, giving it the ability to conduct long-range suppression against deep targets, logistics nodes, and air defense positions.
