Foreign Media: Global Nuclear Power Construction Ranking: China Set to Significantly Lead

The global nuclear power landscape is undergoing a major transformation. China currently has a nuclear capacity of 60.9 gigawatts, ranking third globally, but with planned additions of 124.9 gigawatts, its total future capacity will reach 185.8 gigawatts—far surpassing the United States to become the world's top country.

The United States leads with 102.5 gigawatts, but its planned new additions are only 15.4 gigawatts, meaning its total future capacity of 117.9 gigawatts will drop to second place. France ranks third with 75.6 gigawatts, followed by Russia at 60.7 gigawatts.

In emerging nations, India has the largest planned expansion (31.5 gigawatts), while Uganda, Poland, and Turkey are starting from zero, each planning 18 gigawatts, 15.6 gigawatts, and 14.7 gigawatts respectively. This round of expansion primarily relies on mature nuclear fission technology, with small modular reactors becoming a new trend; meanwhile, commercialization of nuclear fusion still requires long-term exploration.
