South Korean media: China's new energy vehicle exports doubled last year!

On February 18, South Korean media "Today's Finance" published an article stating that it has been reported that the export volume of new energy vehicles in China, including electric vehicles, hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, and hybrid vehicles, doubled last year.

The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) recently announced that the production of cars in China reached 34.531 million units last year, an increase of 10.4% compared to the 2024 forecast; sales grew by 9.4%, reaching 34.4 million units.

The association explained that both the production and sales reached record highs, maintaining the top position globally for the 17th consecutive year, and both production and sales exceeded 30 million units for three consecutive years.

China has been strategically developing new energy vehicles. Last year, the production of new energy vehicles reached 16.626 million units, an increase of 29% compared to the previous year; sales increased by 28.2%, reaching 16.49 million units.

In addition, the export volume of cars in China exceeded 7 million units last year, with the export volume of new energy vehicles more than doubling compared to the 2024 forecast (1.28 million units), reaching 2.615 million units.

On the other hand, in the domestic Chinese market, the sales share of domestic brand passenger cars was 69.5%, up 4.3 percentage points from 2024.
