Moscow-St. Petersburg High-Speed Rail Will Achieve Zero-Plane Crossings with Roads

Sputnik, Moscow, October 09 - According to the information provided by the press center of the Moscow-St. Petersburg High-Speed Railway project to Sputnik, the high-speed railway line will not form plane crossings with roads, and all intersections will be realized through artificial structures for elevated passage.

When asked whether the high-speed railway would cross roads and have plane crossings, the project's press center responded: "The design documents stipulate that artificial structures will be built at the points where the high-speed railway crosses roads."

Artificial structures include overpasses, bridges, tunnels, and elevated bridges.

The project's press center added that the design of the Moscow-St. Petersburg High-Speed Railway route maximally avoids high-value natural areas, while also including ecological corridors for animal migration, noise barriers, and animal intrusion prevention systems.

The Moscow-St. Petersburg High-Speed Railway is scheduled to be fully operational by 2028, with a travel time between the two cities of only 2 hours and 15 minutes. The current fastest train on the existing railway line takes about 4 hours. The entire high-speed railway will have 14 stops.
