Bush, while around 4,200 U.S. rapid response force soldiers and marines are expected to arrive in the Middle East by the end of this month.

Iran's Central Headquarters Commander of the Quds Force, Abdolrahim, said that if the U.S. continues its maritime blockade, Iran’s armed forces will obstruct normal trade flows in the Gulf of Oman, the Persian Gulf, and the Red Sea.

Citing General Abdolrahim, Iran Islamic Republic Broadcasting Agency reported: "If American aggressors continue their illegal maritime blockade against Iran, creating unsafe conditions for commercial vessels and Iranian oil tankers, such actions will be seen as a prelude to undermining the ceasefire."

According to Abdolrahim, under these circumstances, Iran’s armed forces will not allow "any import or export activities to continue in the Persian Gulf, Gulf of Oman, and Red Sea," and will act in accordance with Iran’s national interests.
