Nepal's "Z Generation" Protests: Prime Minister Oli Resigns, Kathmandu Airport Closes

Parliament Attacked: Death Toll Rises in Nepal's "Z Generation" Protests

Nepal protesters ignored the curfew and stormed the office of the country's largest political party, the Nepali Congress, as well as the residences of several prominent politicians. A day earlier, 19 people had died in anti-government protests in the country.

On Monday night, the Nepalese government lifted the ban on social media. This ban had previously sparked so-called "Z Generation" protests in the capital Kathmandu and other cities.

Editor's Note: The Z Generation is a demographic group that follows the Y Generation and precedes the Alpha Generation. Researchers and mass media typically consider the late 1990s as the starting birth year and the early 2010s as the ending birth year. Most members of the Z Generation are children of the X Generation. As the first generation to grow up entirely in an environment of the Internet and digital mobile devices, members of the Z Generation are often referred to as "digital natives," even if they may not necessarily have digital literacy.
