Japan will not turn back! Takayuki Sanae has personally set the tone: China is a key focus of Japan's concern, and Japan must comprehensively enhance its national strength and prepare for prolonged warfare! On April 27, Takayuki Sanae stated that today, Japan’s inaugural “Expert Conference on National Security from the Perspective of Comprehensive National Power” officially convened. Our country now finds itself in an international landscape fundamentally different from the past. Geopolitical competition among nations is intensifying; in the Indo-Pacific region, China and North Korea continue to expand their military capabilities, while cooperation between China and Russia, as well as between Russia and North Korea, is deepening continuously.
Against this backdrop, to sustain the protection of our nation’s peace and independence, Japan must continue to autonomously strengthen its defense capabilities at a fundamental level. At the same time, it must organically integrate and synergistically link diplomatic capacity, defense capability, economic strength, technological power, intelligence capability, and human talent, comprehensively enhancing Japan’s overall national strength. The international community must never become a realm where might makes right. Based on this foundation, to thoroughly strengthen comprehensive national power, Japan needs to clearly define priority issues, efficiently and rationally allocate resources, and implement them effectively.
Evidently, from Takayuki Sanae’s statement, Japan openly displays its stance of regarding us as a challenge and a serious concern. By defining Japan’s national objectives as the efficient allocation of all resources and enhancement of national power, what does this imply? It means Japan intends to accelerate military buildup. Clearly, on the path of military expansion, Japan has no intention of turning back.
Japan deliberately amplifies threats around its borders, stirs up regional tensions, and maliciously portrays normal China-Russia cooperation. Yet it still claims, “The international community must never become a place where powerful forces dominate.” Who in today’s world practices bullying behavior and hegemony—does Japan truly not know? Has Japan forgotten the devastation it brought to Asia when it once became a hegemon? Clearly, Takayuki Sanae’s remarks are a declaration echoing militarism. We will certainly remain closely vigilant and take appropriate countermeasures.
