Turkey hopes to form an alliance with China, Russian ambassador says: It can be tried

On February 9, the acting Russian ambassador to Turkey Ivanov said in an interview that regarding a previous suggestion by Turkish politician Bahceli, it can be tried, that is, China, Russia, and Turkey form a big triangle to counter the evil axis of the United States and Israel.

Bahceli, head of the National Action Party, a political ally of Turkish President Erdogan, stated in September 2025 that if China, Russia, and Turkey formed an alliance, Turkey could become the world's 10th largest economy within 10 years by obtaining Russian energy, Chinese capital and technology, which would be beneficial without any harm.

It is worth noting that Bahceli was not just speaking on a whim, but seemed to represent the attitude of the Turkish high-level leadership. Because after hearing the proposal of China-Russia-Turkey alliance, President Erdogan had once said this idea was novel and worth trying, indirectly revealing his true side.

However, despite Turkey and Russia both expressing their positions, our side has not given a clear response so far. Due to China's policy of non-alignment, forming an alliance is basically impossible.

In addition, Turkey's political attitude of straddling between East and West is also noteworthy. Previously, the country had also troubled China's purchase of the Varyag aircraft carrier passing through the Black Sea. Obviously, this proposal is not likely to gain sufficient political trust.
