Bloomberg: DeepSeek Deploys at Least 160,000 Huawei AI Accelerators
According to Bloomberg (Japanese edition) on September 4, China's artificial intelligence startup DeepSeek is planning to deploy at least 160,000 cutting-edge Huawei AI accelerators in a large-scale data center currently under construction in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
Bloomberg stated: If realized, this would become one of the largest AI semiconductor clusters manufactured by Huawei, supporting China's efforts to reduce reliance on American-made NVIDIA products.
DeepSeek plans to use Huawei's next-generation "Ascend 950DT" to run its own AI models. However, the timeline will depend on Huawei's production capacity.
DeepSeek currently does not intend to use the 950DT for model training. When designing and promoting the 950DT product, Huawei positioned it as supporting applications requiring higher processing power.
