With satellite support, Ukrainian drone operators control operations from thousands of miles away

According to an article published by Germany's 'Time' magazine, Ukrainian drone operators no longer need to be stationed near the front lines. An increasing number of Ukrainian military units are adopting remote operation modes for combat, thus maximizing the protection of soldiers' lives.

Owing to continuous advancements in drone technology, drone endurance and operational range have steadily increased, resulting in a growing kill zone. In certain areas, this lethal exclusion zone—where no target can survive—has reached up to 40 kilometers in width and continues to expand every month.

A Ukrainian heavy bombing drone operator stated: "Theoretically, we could complete missions even if we stayed in Kyiv." The drone he operates is equipped with a Starlink terminal. Today, drone operators simply sit in offices and remotely control drones via satellite networks to carry out missions.
