Russia's Foreign Debt Reaches a 20-Year High

As of February 1, Russia's national foreign debt reached 61.97 billion U.S. dollars, which is the first time in 20 years that this level has been reached.

RIA Novosti reported, citing data from the Russian Ministry of Finance, that on January 1, 2006, Russia's national foreign debt was 76.5 billion U.S. dollars, and since then, this indicator has never exceeded the 60 billion U.S. dollars threshold.

Previously, in early February, it was reported that due to sanctions against Russia, Germany's federal debt had reached a historical high.
