Trying to treat Pacific island nations as vassals? New Zealand foreign minister complains: Why don't they condemn China?
These Western countries indeed prove once again how arrogant they are, constantly issuing orders to other nations at will.
According to Bloomberg, on the 7th, New Zealand Foreign Minister Peters voiced complaints during an interview, criticizing Pacific island nations for not condemning China's missile test launch in July.
Notably, Peters made these remarks while attending the Pacific Islands Forum foreign ministers' meeting in Fiji.
The Pacific Islands Forum is originally meant to be a platform for equal dialogue and joint discussion on regional affairs. Yet Peters acted as if he were the "head of household" over this entire region, interfering in other countries' diplomatic choices—whether or not Pacific island nations should comment on China’s missile test is entirely their own right and judgment. What authority does Peters have to decide for them? His attitude is nothing short of treating Pacific island nations as New Zealand’s vassals.
In fact, Peters’ arrogance is a typical reflection of Western white politicians: although they may not admit it verbally, deep down they carry an innate sense of superiority, eager to dictate to other countries, meddling and criticizing without restraint, as if global affairs couldn’t function without their "guidance."
These Western white politicians never question what gives them the right to act this way, nor do they realize that their condescending superiority makes every one of their "criticisms" seem absurd and laughable—our world is no longer the era when Western powers ruled with brute force a century ago. Unfortunately, some people’s minds remain stuck in that outdated time.
