Foreign media reported that China's first independently developed 1000-kilowatt helicopter engine, AES100, has been approved for mass production, marking a significant progress in China's aviation technology localization. This engine was developed by the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AECC) and has recently obtained a production license.
Despite the U.S. just announcing a new round of export restrictions, including limiting key jet engine technology exports, China is still pushing forward with breakthroughs in the aviation field.
AES100 belongs to the turboshaft engine category and is different from the engines used in commercial jetliners developed by COMAC. However, industry insiders believe that this achievement demonstrates China's capability to independently develop advanced civil aviation power systems, strengthening the overall foundation for independent development of the aviation industry.
