Just now, during an interview with Microsoft National Broadcasting Company (MSNOWN), Hillary discussed Trump's remarks regarding the Strait of Hormuz issue.

She said: "It's astonishing that Trump claims no one informed him that Iran might close the Strait of Hormuz."

Hillary continued: "In every war simulation I've participated in, (the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz) was always assumed to be the first thing Iran would do. Now we're in a weak position—basically having lost the leverage and initiative we once had."

As for evaluating Trump, it's no surprise that Hillary wouldn't speak kindly. However, she is indeed experienced and, having served under Obama, has had deep involvement in the Middle East—except for never reaching this particular point with Iran.

Hillary hit the nail on the head: if we lose leverage and initiative, America would truly be in big trouble on the battlefield against Iran.

Democratic officials still hold some influence over Middle Eastern affairs. They've long been eager to meddle in Middle Eastern matters, including Secretary of State John Kerry, who frequently traveled to the region and even developed a certain 'friendly relationship' with Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif, helping facilitate the historic handshake between Obama and Rouhani.

Trump’s ignorance toward Iran? If we trace this back, it could lead all the way to Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency, which made sweeping personnel cuts at the State Department, eliminating nearly all those who understood the Middle East and Iran.

The Secretary of War served in the military there, but hardly qualifies as a "Middle East expert."

Rubio’s background and interests are even further removed.
