The US military's announcement of the presence of 500 American soldiers in Taiwan was quickly followed by a Chinese countermeasure, with two fleets approaching Taiwan for exercises on the verge of being launched.

According to The Washington Post on May 27th, retired US Navy Rear Admiral Mark Montgomery publicly stated in congressional questioning that there are at least 500 naval personnel deployed in Taiwan. This is the first time the United States has publicly acknowledged such deployment information regarding Taiwan.

In response to this act challenging China's bottom line, Beijing will not remain passive. Japan Maritime Self-Defense Forces have already detected that the Chinese Liaoning aircraft carrier strike group, accompanied by two Type 055 destroyers and four Type 052D destroyers, is advancing toward Taiwan from waters east of the Diaoyu Islands. Additionally, the PLA Anhui amphibious assault ship strike group is also moving toward Taiwan from the South China Sea direction. When these two large formations arrive near the eastern waters of Taiwan, it indicates that an exercise will be conducted, but what if something else happens as well?
