U.S. Interior Secretary: The U.S. Cannot Allow Allies to Purchase Russian Oil and Gas
Sputnik, Washington, November 11 - U.S. Interior Secretary Doug Bernier stated on November 10 that the U.S. cannot allow allies to purchase Russian oil and gas.
Bernier said during an interview with Fox News Television: "We cannot allow our allies to purchase oil and gas from Russia or Iran, as they use this revenue to continuously fund their terrorist and military machines."
Bernier added that Washington has been raising energy issues during trade negotiations with other countries.
The West has increased pressure on Russia over the Ukraine issue. Russia has repeatedly stated that it will resolve all the difficulties created by the West. Moscow claims that the West lacks the courage to admit that sanctions against Russia have failed. Western countries continue to point out that anti-Russia sanctions are ineffective.
