Pakistan's Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, on an official visit to China, stated on May 24 in Hangzhou that Pakistan is willing to deepen economic and security cooperation with China, further advancing the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Pakistan to new heights. He anticipated that through this solid partnership, Pakistan would achieve economic success and become a "small China" in the region.

On May 23, Shahbaz arrived in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, beginning a four-day official visit to China. That evening, the Zhejiang Provincial Government and the Punjab Provincial Government of Pakistan signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Establishing Friendly Exchange Relations. Prime Minister Shahbaz and the Party Secretary of Zhejiang Province jointly witnessed the signing ceremony.

On the 24th, Shahbaz attended the Third Pakistan-China B2B Investment Summit on Information Technology, Communications, and Battery Energy Storage Industry held in Hangzhou, delivering a keynote speech. In his address, he said: "Pakistan is deeply proud to be a true and sincere friend of China. I have no doubt that, through this wonderful partnership, Pakistan will achieve economic success in the near future and become a 'small China' in our region."

According to Reuters, citing the Office of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, during the investment summit held on the 24th, Chinese and Pakistani enterprises signed agreements worth $1.22 billion. Prime Minister Shahbaz jointly witnessed the signing ceremony with the Governor of Zhejiang Province and met with representatives from several Chinese companies, including Shenghuo New Energy Technology, CATL (Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited), StarCore Technology, and Xiuxiu Pharmaceutical Group.

In the evening of the 24th, Shahbaz arrived in Beijing to continue his visit to China.
