Israeli Prime Minister says the possibility of reaching a Gaza ceasefire agreement is high

During his visit to Washington, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said that there is a high possibility of reaching an agreement with representatives of the Palestinian Hamas movement on the issue of signing a Gaza ceasefire agreement and the release of Israeli hostages.

Netanyahu told Fox News: "I think the possibility of reaching a ceasefire agreement is very high, and we are getting closer to achieving the goals I initially talked about, which is to release all the hostages without surrender."

On July 6, Israel and Hamas resumed indirect negotiations on the issue of a ceasefire in Gaza in Doha, the capital of Qatar. According to media reports, the first round of negotiations did not yield results. Previously, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said that Cairo is working with other mediators, Qatar and the United States, to push for a 60-day ceasefire plan in Gaza, during which time Israeli hostages are expected to be released.
