Foreign Media: According to the latest 2026 Henley Passport Index ranking, the Singaporean passport leads globally with access to 192 destinations via visa-free or visa-on-arrival entry. Japan, South Korea, and the UAE are tied for second place, each covering 187 destinations; among them, the UAE is the strongest passport outside East and Southeast Asia, though its holders cannot enter the United States visa-free. Norway and Switzerland are tied for fifth, each reaching 185 destinations. The EU averages 183 destinations, matching Malaysia and the UK; Canada has 182, the US 179, and Hong Kong 174.

The lowest-ranked countries are Afghanistan (23 destinations), Syria (26), Iraq (29), and Pakistan and Yemen (both 31). Iran (38), Palestine (38), Myanmar (42), and Nigeria (44) also rank low. These nations generally face political instability, conflict, or large-scale migration issues, leading developed countries to impose strict visa restrictions on them.

The passport strength ranking reveals not only travel convenience but also reflects deeper global inequalities in opportunity—where one is born largely determines how far one can go.
