India's "Hindustan Times" reports: New Delhi, India - Due to the volcanic ash cloud generated by the eruption of Indonesia's Krakatoa volcano, the Indian Civil Aviation Authority has ordered inspections of all flights flying to or departing from the northern, northwestern, and northeastern parts of the country.
As of Tuesday, the volcanic ash cloud from Krakatoa has moved to areas outside of India, said a senior official from the Indian Civil Aviation Authority, adding that all flights have returned to normal operations.
Previously, the volcanic ash cloud covered parts of northern and northwestern India, leading to the cancellation of 78 flights on Monday for safety checks.
Vivek Chand Rawaat, Director of the Indian Civil Aviation Authority, stated in a statement: "Currently, the volcanic ash cloud has moved away from Indian airspace, and all flights have resumed normal operations."
The Indian Meteorological Department stated that Krakatoa volcano erupted in southern Indonesia on Monday, generating a volcanic ash cloud that moved northwest, covering parts of the Maldives and Sri Lanka before affecting Indian airspace.
