Foreign Media: China Reduces Anti-Dumping Tariffs on European Pork Exporters

On December 16, China announced that it would lower the tariffs on pork and pig by-products imported from the EU, ending a one-year anti-dumping investigation. The new tariff rates range from 4.9% to 19.8%, involving dozens of European pork exporters, and will take effect starting December 17 and last for five years.

Previously, in September, China had imposed temporary anti-dumping tariffs as high as 62.4% on EU pork imports.

The EU is the world's largest pork exporter, with about 13% of its annual production sold overseas, and China is its biggest buyer.
