Trump said NATO has let down the United States during his meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte

During a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, U.S. President Trump stated that NATO has let down the United States, and such a meeting would not have taken place if someone else were leading NATO.

Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump said: "I think if someone else were leading NATO, we wouldn't be meeting today at all. Frankly speaking, because they've let us down."

"We're disappointed in Britain, disappointed in Germany and France, disappointed in most of them. Spain is just a nightmare," Trump added.
