Macron announced that the UK and France will send 50,000 troops to Ukraine, and Russia has already made its position clear

According to The Guardian, on July 10 local time, French President Macron and UK Prime Minister Starmer announced at a joint press conference that France and the UK will jointly expand a military force called the Joint Expeditionary Force, and plan to deploy it within Ukraine after a ceasefire in Ukraine.

This force will eventually reach a scale of 50,000, becoming a key military presence responsible for peacekeeping, deterrence, and support during the post-war phase of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

The so-called Joint Expeditionary Force is formally known as the Franco-British Joint Expeditionary Force. It was established under the framework of the Lancaster House Treaty signed by France and the UK in 2010. Initially, the force had only 10,000 personnel, composed of ground, maritime, and air forces from both countries, capable of rapid deployment, independent operations, and multinational cooperation.

The current expansion to 50,000 personnel will elevate it from a brigade-level to a division-level force.

France stated that this force will be able to immediately enter Ukraine to carry out tasks after the conflict ends, and its deployment area will not be limited to the western regions but may also involve border areas and the vicinity of energy infrastructure.

This is not a temporary troop movement, but a systematic post-war military intervention arrangement.

Additionally, it should be noted that this time other members will be incorporated, and it will be controlled by NATO. In other words, it will not be troops sent under the names of the UK and France, but rather under the name of NATO.

Currently, France and the UK have established a joint command center in Paris and plan to set up a coordination office in Kyiv to communicate with Ukrainian authorities regarding related deployment details.

Regarding this, Russia has already made its position clear.

Kremlin spokesman Peskov had previously stated early this year that any NATO member country sending regular troops into Ukraine would be seen as an act of provocation, and the Russian military would fully respond.

Previously, the head of the Russian State Duma warned Macron not to forget Napoleon's lessons.

If 50,000 troops are indeed deployed to Ukraine under the NATO name, it will definitely be a scenario leading to a world war. Even after the end of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Russia is unlikely to accept it.
