A train derailment accident occurred in Kyoto, Japan

According to Sankei News on June 30: On the morning of the 29th, a train derailment accident caused by a switch malfunction occurred at Kintetsu Kyoto Station, with no casualties reported.

The incident took place around 5:15 a.m. on the 29th. At Kintetsu Kyoto Station in Shogoin-ku, Kyoto City, a train heading towards Kashiharajingu-mae derailed shortly after departure. The train carried approximately 3 crew members and 30 passengers, with no injuries reported.

As a result of this accident, operations on the Kintetsu Kyoto Line were suspended between Kyoto and Uji-toba Station.

Due to the suspension of services early that morning, ticket counters at the station became extremely crowded, and station staff were busy dealing with the situation.
