I previously noticed a problem with the C919, which is that its price does not have a clear advantage compared to Boeing and Airbus aircraft. Many Chinese products can obtain better performance than their Western counterparts at 1/2 or even 1/10 of the price, but the C919 cannot. The core reason is that the C919 procures too many Western components and lacks cost advantages.
The U.S. ban on engine exports is not a bad thing. China's CJ-1000A has been tested for a long time, and it's time for the C919 to become a real Chinese aircraft.
