iPhone 17 mass production, Zhengzhou Foxconn's 3-month salary of 20,000 yuan triggers a recruitment boom
Apple's new smartphone, the iPhone 17, is about to be launched in September and has now entered mass production. As the world's largest iPhone production base, Zhengzhou Foxconn recently launched a peak season recruitment plan, with salaries reaching over 20,000 yuan for working three months, attracting a large number of job seekers to queue up for interviews, and long lines reappeared outside the factory area.
Zhengzhou Foxconn's recruitment announcement shows that the basic salary for returnees in the A Business Group is 2,100 yuan per month, plus overtime pay, allowances, and subsidies, as well as a maximum bonus of 8,000 yuan for those who have worked for 90 days. Calculating comprehensively, employees who work for three months can earn between 19,200 and 23,000 yuan. The A Business Group mainly handles iPhone assembly business.
Although the benefits are not as good as the peak period after the epidemic in 2022, in the context where salaries and positions are generally declining in China's manufacturing industry, Foxconn's conditions remain attractive.
According to Chinese media reports, on August 18, a large number of job seekers lined up hundreds of meters long outside the recruitment center of the Zhengzhou Airport Economic Zone Foxconn Comprehensive Bonded Area. The park's person in charge said that the demand for labor continues to rise, and the recruitment will continue until October, mainly focusing on product assembly and quality inspection positions, with monthly income of about 5,000 to 7,000 yuan. New recruits are mainly young people from Henan province aged 18 to 35.
With an increasing number of workers coming in, the dormitory in the park is approaching full capacity, and the canteen is crowded during peak hours. Industry insiders expect that this round of recruitment peak will subside by mid-September, and at that time, wages may also decrease.
