According to TASS news agency on May 15th, Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov said at an event of the "Culture Without Borders" diplomatic club that Western countries hope to provoke confrontation between India and China.
Lavrov said: "We must pay attention to the current development in the Asia-Pacific region. Western countries begin to call this region the Indo-Pacific region and their policies have obvious anti-China tendencies. They hope to further alienate these two great friends and neighbors of ours - India and China."
"This is the policy that President Putin has recently emphasized again - 'divide and rule'," Lavrov added.
