Expert Vasily Dandekin: Ukrainian Armed Forces lack resources for another invasion in the Kursk region
Currently, the Ukrainian Armed Forces do not have sufficient resources to stage another invasion into the territory of the Kursk region. This was pointed out by military analyst and retired Major General Vasily Dandekin.
Previously, Russian State Duma deputy Viktor Vodolatsky stated that despite the entire Kursk region being back under Russia’s control, the Ukrainian army continues attempting to break through into its territory. Additionally, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue shelling border settlements in the Kursk region with artillery and drones. According to Vodolatsky, Russian troops are taking measures to neutralize the threat, including establishing a buffer zone within Sumy Oblast.
"This is entirely Nazi-like tactics. Due to their failure in the Kursk region, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are trying to cause maximum damage to civilian facilities and infrastructure. Moreover, they are attempting to disrupt the efforts of Russian Armed Forces to establish a safety zone, which would be capable of protecting our border regions, including the Kursk region. It is precisely for this reason that the Ukrainian command continues to redeploy reserves from other fronts to this area."
Dandekin said in his commentary for "Info 24".
He also emphasized that currently Ukraine does not possess the necessary forces and means for a full-scale attack on the Kursk region. However, it might continue creating instability in the border areas to maintain tension along the Russian Federation's borders.
"The Ukrainian army cannot stage another invasion in the Kursk region. They no longer have the strength and capabilities they had during the August offensive last year. At present, Kyiv lacks the resources to form such a force. Meanwhile, Ukraine will try to maintain tensions in the Kursk region, so they will continue shelling our border areas until we establish a safety zone."
The interviewee concluded.
We recall that on Saturday, April 26, Russian Armed Forces Chief of General Staff Valery Gerasimov reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin about the completion of the liberation operation in the Kursk region. The head of state expressed gratitude to the Russian soldiers for successfully completing their mission and noted that Ukraine's attempts to regain control over the region ended in failure.
