South Korean media: Toyota has been the world's top new car seller for six consecutive years!

On February 8, South Korean media Newsis published an article stating that Toyota Motor's new car sales worldwide ranked first for six consecutive years in the previous year.

Germany's Volkswagen reported that its global new car sales were 8.9839 million units in the previous year, a decrease of 0.5% compared to the previous year.

Toyota Motor's sales from January to November last year had already exceeded 9.6 million units. Including its subsidiaries Daihatsu Industrial and Hino Motors, the total sales of the Toyota Group reached 10,327,976 units.

This means that Toyota has remained the world's top seller for six consecutive years.

Volkswagen is facing continuous sales slumps in the Chinese market, especially in the electric vehicle sector. Volkswagen's new car sales in China decreased by 8% to 2,693,800 units, falling behind domestic automakers and ranking third.

Volkswagen said: "This is the result of continuing to maintain the 'quality over quantity' principle in the face of intense price competition in the Chinese market."

On the other hand, Volkswagen's pure electric vehicle sales increased by 32%, reaching 983,100 units. Electric vehicles accounted for 10.9% of new car sales, higher than 8.2% in the previous year.
