Former Qatari Prime Minister Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabir Al Thani stated that the Middle East and Persian Gulf region are heading toward a prolonged war of attrition, emphasizing that the United States needs to play a more decisive role in decision-making to ease tensions.
He wrote on social media platform Х: "Unfortunately, the situation in the Persian Gulf has escalated into full-scale war. I had previously warned about the danger of this region sliding into a protracted war of attrition—now it seems increasingly likely to occur."
He noted that the situation has become even more complex over the past two days, with the Iran-aligned Houthi movement in Yemen, known as Ansar Allah, joining the military operations.
The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' news office stated that the IRGC Aerospace Force and Navy targeted two aluminum plants in the Middle East connected to U.S. defense and aerospace firms.
In a statement cited by Iran’s national radio and television network: "During a joint operation, the IRGC Aerospace Force and Navy effectively struck industrial facilities in the region linked to U.S. defense and aerospace companies—specifically Emirates Aluminum (EMAL) in the UAE and Aluminum Bahrain (Alba) in Bahrain."
The IRGC pointed out that EMAL possesses the world’s largest aluminum production line, with an annual capacity of 1.3 million tons.
A message released via a Telegram channel stated: "The Israel Defense Forces conducted an additional round of strikes on temporary command centers and weapons manufacturing sites in Tehran."
According to the release, the IDF also targeted ballistic missile manufacturing and storage locations, air defense systems, and observation posts.
