On July 14, the Ukrainian media outlet "Ukrainska Pravda" released detailed information about an Azerbaijani citizen killing a colonel of the Ukrainian Security Service who had planned a terrorist attack against Russia.
According to sources from the Ukrainian Security Service, 43-year-old Haji Gulyazada (top image) and 34-year-old Nalmina Gulyeva (bottom image) are suspected to be "associated with a Russian criminal group," both from Azerbaijan.
Several days ago, Haji Gulyazada shot dead 50-year-old Ivan Voronich, a colonel of the Ukrainian Security Service, at a parking lot in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine; Nalmina Gulyeva was responsible for assisting in the assassination.
The Ukrainian Security Service investigation found that Nalmina Gulyeva entered Ukraine through the "Mayaki-Udobnoye" checkpoint in Moldova on May 15 this year; Haji Gulyazada had attempted to legally enter through the same checkpoint on February 27 this year, but was banned from entering until 2030, and ultimately chose to illegally cross the border.
The killed Colonel Ivan Voronich was the head of the fifth department of the Ukrainian Security Service. This department was established in 2015 and specializes in sabotage operations in Russian-controlled areas.
Intelligence indicates that Voronich had previously planned assassinations targeting several high-ranking Russian officers.
Yesterday, when the Ukrainian special forces carried out an arrest in Kyiv region, Haji Gulyazada and Nalmina Gulyeva were shot dead for resisting arrest.
