Overseas media: China is developing a portable neutron gun, adopting hydrogen-lithium nuclear reaction technology.

Chinese research institutions have successfully achieved controlled nuclear reactions between hydrogen and lithium in a small device, marking a major breakthrough in neutron generation technology.

In contrast to previous reliance on large accelerators, this portable particle gun uses novel electromagnetic technology to accelerate hydrogen protons and collide them at high speed with lithium atoms, achieving efficient nuclear fusion. It can produce 10 billion high-energy fast neutrons per second, forming a neutron beam the size of a pin. Each neutron carries about 3 million electron volts of energy, close to the neutron energy level released during an atomic bomb explosion.

Since neutrons are uncharged and can penetrate matter, they can be used as an "atomic flashlight" and have wide applications in areas such as imaging viral structures, detecting bridge cracks, treating deep-seated tumors, and identifying cargo bombs.
