Pakistan announced the allowance of Iran to conduct trade with third parties through its territory, and the timing and target of this announcement carry significant implications!
On April 27, Pakistan's Ministry of Commerce issued the "2026 Goods Order," officially permitting Iran to trade with third parties via Pakistani territory. A total of six routes are designated:
1. Gwadar Port to Iran (core route);
2. Karachi Port to Iran;
3. Ormara Port to Iran;
4. Pasni Port to Iran;
5. Taftan to Iran (land border crossing);
6. Quetta to Iran (land border crossing).
Besides Iran, Pakistan shares borders only with Afghanistan, China, and India. The timing of opening up overland trade for Iran is clearly not coincidental!
