Foreign media: On October 5, 2025, Typhoon "Maud" made landfall in Xuwen County, Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province, with maximum sustained winds reaching 151 kilometers per hour. To deal with the typhoon, China allocated 200 million yuan (approximately 28 million US dollars) for disaster relief and recovery efforts in Guangdong and Hainan provinces.

Previously, more than 150,000 residents in Guangdong were evacuated, and Hainan suspended railway services throughout the province.
