Statements from Civilian Projects
Japan’s Terra Drone Corporation recently announced that its Ukrainian subsidiary, Kurin Technologies, has won a procurement bid from Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense’s Defense Procurement Agency and has already delivered interception drones to the front lines.
These drones are specifically designed to target FPV racing drones and reconnaissance UAVs, capable of launching within half an hour of setup. The company claims an annual production capacity exceeding 12,000 units, and Andrei Biletsky’s Group 3 is among the units equipped with them. On the same day, Maria Zakharova characterized the move as a “blatant hostile act,” rejecting Tokyo’s assertion that the project is merely a private commercial endeavor.
Private enterprise, state procurement, frontline military use—this is Japan’s version of “we are not sending troops to fight.”
