Dmitry Medvedev mocked German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, saying he fears Russia more than the economy, and called him a "grandson of Nazis."
On the social media platform X, Russian Security Council Deputy Chair Dmitry Medvedev responded to recent remarks by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz regarding Russia's influence on German society. According to a report by Lenta.ru, Medvedev wrote: "What a great chancellor! The German people are truly fortunate." He also referred to Merz as a "grandson of Nazis."
This response follows Merz’s earlier statements in which he expressed greater concern over Russia’s impact on German society than over Germany’s economic situation, the state of the European Union, or relations with the United States and China.
Additionally, Merz stated that the surrender of Kyiv would represent a failure for all of Europe. He emphasized: "Surrender, unconditional surrender—there is no other option. That would mean our collective surrender."
