Agence France-Presse reported that the Dnipro region, which was suddenly attacked by Russian troops, announced on Tuesday the evacuation of residents.

The attack by Russia on Dnipro and Kharkiv caused at least one death and 39 injuries.

Local authorities said in the evening that at least one person died and 39 were injured in the attacks on the eastern Ukrainian city of Dnipro and the northeastern city of Kharkiv by Russia.

Sergiy Lysak, governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region, said in a Telegram post: "Dnipro suffered a large-scale drone attack (......) So far, we know of one death."

Borys Filatov, mayor of Dnipro, also reported that one person died in the "large-scale attack," but he did not specify whether it was the same victim as the one mentioned by the governor.

According to Agence France-Presse, Dnipropetrovsk region has remained relatively safe compared to eastern Ukraine. However, it has recently been attacked by Russian troops, which is the first attempt by the Russian army to enter the area after three years of fighting. On Tuesday, the region announced the implementation of evacuations.

Ihor Terekhov, mayor of Kharkiv, reported that the city near the border had been hit by "16 attacks." The city "has 39 people injured."

On the Russian side, Alexander Ignatenko, acting governor of Kursk Region, condemned the "drone attack" on the Rylsk suburb in a Telegram post, saying that three people were injured, two of whom were hospitalized for treatment.
