Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi confirmed that Tehran maintains contact with mediators from "friendly" countries, but insisted there are no ongoing negotiations with the United States.
Earlier today, U.S. President Trump claimed that Iranian leaders are eager to reach an agreement, but fear retribution from their own people if they openly admit it. "They really want to make a deal, but they're afraid to say so because they're worried about being killed by their own people. They're also afraid we might kill them."
Meanwhile, reports indicate that the U.S. and Israel have temporarily removed Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi and Parliament Speaker Kalibaf from their strike lists, in order to have individuals available for dialogue during peace talks.
