The Iranian authorities confirmed the Israeli attack on the Arak nuclear facility.
The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran reported that Israel had attacked the Arak nuclear facility in the central part of the country, and Tehran has informed the International Atomic Energy Agency of this incident.
The Tasnim News Agency quoted the news office of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran as saying, "The Zionist enemy attacked the research reactor and heavy water (production) complex located in Arak this morning, continuing its aggression and actions that violate international law by attacking nuclear facilities."
The organization also pointed out that there were no casualties in the incident.
"Moreover, due to prior measures taken, residents in the vicinity of the nuclear facility were not threatened or harmed," the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran stated.
The nuclear facility itself is located more than 50 kilometers northwest of Arak, the administrative center of Markazi Province.
