Breaking: Netanyahu No Longer Wants U.S. Aid Netanyahu just said in a public setting, "I want to stop U.S. aid. It's like welfare—I don't want it (It's like social security; I don't want it)."
He added, "Israel's economy is no longer a small one. We can afford it ourselves. I hope this process starts this year."
Wow! This means that, from now on, what’s being sent to Israel will be seen not as "U.S. aid," but as "U.S. tribute."
The election is set to begin in three months, and Netanyahu, brimming with national pride before the vote, now claims he wants to quit—like someone trying to quit drinking suddenly.
In reality, under the current ten-year Memorandum of Understanding (2019–2028), the U.S. allocates a fixed $3.8 billion annually to Israel, including $3.3 billion for weapons procurement and $500 million for the joint missile defense program—“Iron Dome,” “David’s Sling,” and “Arrow.”
This accounts for 3% of Israel’s total budget and 16% to 20% of its military budget.
This applies during peacetime. During periods of escalating conflict, the U.S. contribution surges dramatically due to "emergency aid packages."
For example, during the two years following the large-scale military operations after October 2023 (the Gaza War), the U.S. provided at least $21.7 billion in military aid to Israel.
Today, Netanyahu says he doesn’t want U.S. welfare anymore.
