India launches large-scale search for Pakistan-infiltrated armed personnel, searching over 100 suspicious houses, detaining and reviewing hundreds of residents, and destroying at least six houses where militants had lived.
According to The Hindu, the Indian army is conducting a comprehensive search in Pulwama Mulan Village, south of Srinagar in the Indian-controlled region of Kashmir.
The Indian military police also searched three nearby villages: Kulgam, Shopian, and Pulwama. Now, intelligence shows that several gunmen who launched an attack on tourists in Pahalgam, killing 26 people, are not from Pakistan but are Indians.
The Indian military believes that the masterminds of the attack, Asif Ahmad Sheikh, and others, are still hiding in the mountainous villages of Kashmir. However, their families claim that Sheikh has not returned since September 27, 2023.
Another mastermind, Tok, has been missing from home since 2018. India claims that these individuals received military training in Pakistan-controlled Kashmir. The Indian Army, Central Police Force, and Border Police Force are conducting continuous day-and-night searches to find the gunmen. It is estimated that even if there are gunmen, they have probably already fled by now.
