Former leaders of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and former heads of Israeli intelligence agencies "Mossad" and "Shin Bet" wrote a letter to former US President Donald Trump, requesting him to force Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to end the Gaza war.
This news was reported by the Jerusalem Post. More than 600 former senior officers and intelligence officials signed the letter, including former Deputy Chief of the IDF, Matan Vilnai, former head of Shin Bet, Ami Ayalon, and former head of Mossad, Tamir Pardo.
They said that two goals of the military operation, achieved through force, have already been realized, while the third goal - rescuing captured people from Gaza - can only be resolved through negotiations. In their view, Hamas no longer poses a strategic threat to Israel.
